How the estimate works
Transparent enough to disagree with.
The model divides annual household consumption by 1,450 estimated AC units per installed kW, rounds up to the next 0.5 kW, and caps the public estimator at 10 kW. It models 90% of generation as usable against consumption.
For Telangana homes, savings are the difference between the TGERC LT-I domestic energy charge before solar and the energy charge after the estimated monthly solar offset. Total monthly usage first selects the applicable domestic category. Fixed charges, customer charges, electricity duty and fuel adjustments are excluded from savings. Bill-only input is approximate; units from the bill are more reliable.
The cost is a deliberately broad pre-survey range. It is not presented as a regulated price or installer quotation. Structure height, civil work, cable length, module and inverter models, sanctioned-load work, approvals and roof access can materially change it.
